Octane AC Gradient Node
LightWave 2025 introduces the Attribute Container Gradient (ACGradient) node to provide input into the new Gradient Map and Volume Gradient Map nodes. The ACGradient define the attributes of the gradient only.

It can be found in the Node Editor Menu under 'Gradients'.

Interface

Once the node is open, you can select (or by double-clicking, create) the keys (using ctrl-select to select multiple keys) in order to edit the position, incoming curve type and colour in order to construct your gradient.
Input Parameters
Position - Position of the gradient key.
Curve - selects the incoming curve type for the key selected. This includes:
Stepped Curve
Linear Curve
Hermite Curve
Bezier Curve
Color - Select the colour for the key selected.

Select All - Selects gradient keys.
Deselect - Deselects the current selected key(s).
Lock - Locks selected key(s).
Unlock - Unlocks selected key(s).
Fit - Fits the selected keys into the gradient position range.
Fit Reset - Resets the fit keys operator.
Distribute - Distributes the selected gradient keys evenly over the selected key position(s).
Reverse - Reverses the selected Gradient keys.
Flip - Flip the selected key(s).
Erase - Erase selected key(s).
Zoom In - Zoom into the current key selection.
Zoom Out - Zoom out from the current key selection.
Copy - Copies the selected key(s).
Paste - Pastes the selected key(s).
Output Parameters
Gradient - This is the output of the gradient node that gets piped into the gradient input of the Gradient Map and Volume Gradient Map Nodes.
Usage
The node network shown below applies the gradient (shown in the ACGradient panel) to the object's surface via the Gradient Map Node. It uses a procedural input (Octane Noise Texture) as a driver. But this could be a texture or Octane Falloff node.
