This page is a part of continuing efforts to make the LightWave documentation complete. If a link takes you back to the main page, it leads to a page that hasn't yet been created. Let us know if you find one!
The top region allows you to specify the general characteristics of the bolt or screw object, and to load and/or save parameter files.
The top panel fields are:
Reset To Defaults - Clicking on this button will reset all parameters to the default values.
Axis - The axis along which the bolt/screw/nut will be constructed.
Center X, Y, Z - The X, Y, Z co-ordinates of the center of the bolt/screw.
Number of sides - How many sides will comprise the thread barrel and other round components of the bolt/screw (min 3, max 48, default 24 sides).
Load Parameters - Clicking on this button opens a standard file requester panel allowing you to load a previously saved parameter file.
Save Parameters - Clicking on this button opens a standard file requester panel allowing you to save a parameter file. Note that the parameters will be written to the file when the bolt or screw is generated.
The last two fields enable you to load and/or save files that record all the parameter settings for a given bolt or screw. This facility allows you to build up your own libraries of bolts and screws.
