Buffers allows you to set up all the buffers you wish to export in a single window. By default, Final Render and Alpha are checked but compositors can choose the buffers they need for the package of their choice. All buffers are listed here.

Once a buffer has been selected Options become available.

  • Render Buffer - This duplicates the switch next to the buffer name in the upper part of the window

  • Adaptive Sampling - Always enabled for the Final_Render buffer, Adaptive Sampling can be enabled for other buffers. Buffers with Adaptive Sampling checked will be used to determine when more refinement is needed. This will increase render times but the benefit is reduced noise and smoother anti-aliasing

  • Noise Filtering - Enables filtering for the specific buffer. Noise filtering must be engaged on the Render Tab for this to have an effect.

  • Use Custom Name - If unchecked, the name of the buffer will be the Buffer name as presented in the upper part of the window

  • Custom Name - Becomes unghosted if Use Custom Name is checked

  • Reconstruction Filter - This chooses the reconstruction filter used to rebuild the buffer. In previous versions of LightWave this setting was in Camera Properties, but is now available on a per-buffer basis

The complete Buffer list is described here.
